Currently living and working in her home town of Cincinnati, Ashley Theuring is currently Visiting Faculty at Xavier’s Institute for Spirituality & Social Justice. She is a doctoral fellow in the Practical Theology program at the Boston University School of Theology and hopes to maintain her dual identity as a scholar and advocate. She attended the University of Dayton were she received her BA in Religious Studies and Psychology and worked a number of years at a rape, crisis, and abuse center, Women Helping Women of Hamilton County, as an advocate and educator. Her theological research focuses on exploring religious practices, meaning making, and survival in response to trauma.
