Dr. Patrick B. Reyes is a Salinas, California raised Latinx practical theologian, scholar-activist, writer, and popular educator. He currently serves as director of strategic partnerships for doctoral initiatives at the Forum for Theological Exploration. He is responsible for managing the fellowship program for doctoral students, relationship building and providing support to leaders of theological institutions developing future leaders for the church and academy. For the last 15 years his work with gang-affiliated youth, farmworkers, and interfaith communities has focused on compassion and spiritual based practices for healing, especially in communities of conflict and violence. He consults, speaks, and offers workshops for faith communities seeking to embody their vision of justice and peace. Informed by his home community, Patrick has published research focusing decolonial theory, critical pedagogies, and the intersection of popular religiosity, Theopoetics, and social action. He holds a Doctorate from Claremont School of Theology, and his research interests include constructing a Latin@ practical theology and searching for the sacred in the midst and aftermath of trauma and violence. He is a marathoner, spouse, and proud papa.
